I went to a barbeque last night - this girl I used to house share with has moved in with her brother, so it was them, plus her boyfriend and another girl who still lives in the old house share. It was a really good night - we sat out in the garden with big candles planted everywhere, it was really warm and there were bats flying around, and I made friends with an enormous ginger cat! We spent the whole night laughing, and it was really good fun - I have been pretty down recently about my total lack of social life, so it was nice to be around my friends for a change (instead of random people that my boyfriend knows back in Essex!). The girl from the old house share invited me and the other girl to a virgin vie part at the end of the month back at the old house, so it seems like I might actually begin to have a 'LIFE' again, albeit a very dull one compared to most people!

It will be weird to go back to that house again, as it caused me so much grief - there was a girl living their who let her junkie boyfriend stay rent free - he was always in trouble with the police for skipping bail and non-appearances at court, and always gave our address, so we kept getting late night visits from the police - one day I came home to find all the lights on and muddy foot prints everywhere, with a note from the police - I called the number and they told me we had been raided for drugs!! They didn't find anything, but it made us all feel very uncomfortable. We also got woken up a lot by them rowing, one time we could hear them fighting so we dashed in to find him holding her down with his hands around her throat threatening to kill her! She was an ex-junkie too though and a total bitch, so she was really nasty whenever we tried to hep her. Eventually it just got so stressful with both of them stealing food and money off us and all the other stuff, that I tried to move out, only to be told by the letting agents that I was breaking the six month contract and so they wouldn't give me a reference for my new flat with my boyfriend. It led to a lot of wrangling and explaining the situation, and eventually her eviction, but I ended up paying for both rentals pluss bills last December, so spent months paying it all off and christmas was a washout.

The girl that still lives there told us the police have been round a few more times looking for the boyfriend still, so she has written to them to explain that he never lived there officially and is now gone anyway. The girlfriend came round the other day to pick up all her stuff which was still stored in the garage as she is moving to Cornwall to live with her mum - it's like a soap, but when I was living there, it was more like hell! At least one of them has gone away, though we often see the boyfriend staggering around town like Ozzy Osbourne, selling dodgy mobile phones and getting beaten up.

You wouldn't think things like this would go on in a nice little town in Surrey, but it does...

Have to brave the shops tomorrow to get my boyfriend's birthday sorted out (card, present etc). I am paying for the two of us and his parent to go to the Goodwood Revival in September too, but need some ideas for a physical present and can't think of anything that isn't boring or practical - I want to give him something fun!
